Point Pleasant Resort was conceived and developed by Gunther and Ruth Pfanner. They recognized that the 15-acre cliff side preserve the resort now sits upon contained the best views on the island and the most romantic vantage point to view the dramatic island sunrises. Many people in the 1970's questioned the Pfanners on their decision to build a resort in that location. But Gunther Pfanner, a brilliant engineer, and his lovely wife Ruth, only smiled.
Over eleven separate islands and cays belonging to the U.S. and British Virgin Islands can be seen from the resort, including St. John right next door. The views are spectacular!
